Allegiant Air was founded in January of 1997 by Mitch Allee (Owner, CEO), Jim Patterson (President) and Capt. Dave Beadle (Chief Pilot). The airline received FAA and DOT Certification in June of 1998.

Allegiant was founded in 1997 under the name WestJet Express.[1] After a trademark dispute with West Jet Air Center of Rapid City, South Dakota, and with the name's similarity to WestJet Airlines of Canada, the airline adopted the name Allegiant Air and received its operating certificate for scheduled and charter domestic operations in 1998. The airline also has authority for charter service to Canada and Mexico. Wholly owned by Allegiant Travel, the airline has over 1,800 employees.

Scheduled service began on October 15, 1998 between Las Vegas and the airline's initial hub in Fresno, California, at the Fresno Yosemite International Airport, with Douglas DC-9-21 and DC-9-51 aircraft. Shortly after the shutdown of WinAir Airlines, Allegiant Air opened a hub in Long Beach, California, mirroring WinAir's network. Allegiant was unable to bring in enough revenue to cover its costs and on December 13, 2000, Allegiant filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and Maurice J. Gallagher, Jr., the major creditor of the airline, gained control of the business during reorganization.

In June 2001, Gallagher restructured the airline to a low-cost model and moved the headquarters and operations to Las Vegas, where they remain as of 2012[update]. Having formerly worked with WestAir and ValuJet Airlines, Gallagher led the airline's transformation into its present form, focusing on smaller markets that larger airlines did not serve with mainline aircraft. Gallagher remains Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Allegiant.

In March 2002, Allegiant successfully exited bankruptcy and entered into a long-term contract with Harrah’s to provide charter services to its casinos in Laughlin, Nevada and Reno, Nevada. At the same time, the airline acquired its first MD-80 aircraft. From 2002 through 2004, the scheduled service business model was developed and, by 2004, Allegiant was flying from 13 small cities to Las Vegas offering bundled air and hotel packages.

In November 2006, Allegiant announced that it had filed a registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission in anticipation of a planned initial public offering of its Common Stock. It is listed on the NASDAQ Stock Market under the ticker symbol "ALGT".

In July 2007, the airline announced plans to open a fourth focus city and operations base at Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport in Mesa, Arizona, connecting 13 cities already served by Allegiant and one new city to the Phoenix metropolitan area. The airline began service out of Mesa on October 25, 2007.[5] The airport announced a 10,000-square-foot (930 m2) expansion in August 2008 which increased the number of gates from two to four and allowed Allegiant to triple the number of flights from Phoenix. The expansion was funded by a loan from Allegiant which will be repaid by passenger fees.[6]

In August 2007, Allegiant announced plans to open its fifth focus city and make an operations base at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, connecting cities already served by Allegiant to the South Florida area. The airline began service to Fort Lauderdale on November 14, 2007.

In January 2008, Allegiant opened its sixth base at Washington's Bellingham International Airport. The airline bases two McDonnell Douglas MD-80 aircraft in Bellingham as part of the expansion.[7] Routes served exclusively from Bellingham include Las Vegas, Palm Springs, San Diego, San Francisco and Phoenix. Expansion in Bellingham has been largely driven by its proximity to Vancouver, Canada.

Along with Southwest Airlines, the airline was the only major United States airline to make a profit in the first quarter of the oil-driven economic crisis of 2008[citation needed]. Allegiant’s unique strategy has allowed the company to remain profitable every quarter since 2003 - 35 consecutive quarters - despite industry challenges that include fluctuating fuel costs and an unstable economy[citation needed].

Los Angeles International Airport became Allegiant's seventh base.[citation needed]

In February 2010, Orlando International Airport became Allegiant's eighth base. Just nine months later and after careful evaluation of the routes operating out of Orlando International Airport, Allegiant, citing an inability to achieve a fare premium at MCO as anticipated, a strong passenger preference for Orlando Sanford International Airport,[citation needed] higher costs at MCO than expected and a more efficient operating environment at SFB,[citation needed] announced the consolidation and return of its Orlando Area operations to Orlando Sanford International Airport.

In February 2010, Allegiant announced its ninth base at Grand Rapids' Gerald R. Ford International Airport. The airline is basing two McDonnell Douglas MD-80 aircraft in Grand Rapids as part of the expansion. On August 12, 2011, Allegiant announced it would discontinue the Grand Rapids base on October 31.[8]

In November 2011, Allegiant closed its Long Beach facility and consolidated all Los Angeles area flights to Los Angeles International (LAX).

In March 2010, Allegiant announced the purchase of six used Boeing 757s as part of plans to begin flights to Hawaii, with deliveries from early 2010 to the fourth quarter of 2011.[9] They gained the approval for type with the FAA in July 2011,[10] and are working to obtain the appropriate ETOPS rating in order to be able to serve Hawaii.

[edit] Corporate affairs Allegiant Air logo used from 2003 to 2010 [edit] Headquarters

The corporate headquarters is in Enterprise, unincorporated Clark County, Nevada.[11][12] The building is located in a business park that, as of 2010, is new. The building has no signage on the front stating that it is the headquarters of Allegiant, but the roof has the words "Allegiant" prominently visible from above. The facility's front desk is a replica of an MD-80 tail.[13]

[edit] Business model

Allegiant operates a business model based on:

Flights from airports which have limited or no service from mainline carriers to leisure destinations Use of smaller/secondary airports, with the exceptions of Honolulu International Airport, McCarran International (Las Vegas, NV), Los Angeles International, Gerald R. Ford International Airport (Grand Rapids, MI), and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport Marketing to leisure passengers traveling to seasonal warm-weather destinations Generating ancillary revenues in addition to ticket revenue Maintaining low operational costs [edit] Markets

Allegiant Air targets small cities with limited passenger airline service. Many of the airline's markets, such as Peoria, Illinois, are served only by commuter service requiring a connection at an airline hub.[14] Allegiant, as of October 2009, has competition on only five of its 136 routes.[15]

Other Allegiant destinations are secondary airports that are close to large metropolitan areas. For instance, Allegiant, Frontier Airlines, and Spirit Airlines are the only carriers operating at Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport.

In February 2010, Allegiant announced it would begin service from Long Beach, California, but did not immediately disclose where it will fly.[16] On July 1, 2010 Allegiant flew its first flight into Long Beach Airport. It will fly from Bellingham International Airport and Stockton several times a week.[17] Long Beach service was abandoned in November 2011. On September 28, 2010, Allegiant announced it would begin service from Bakersfield, California to McCarran starting November 17, 2010.[18] This service has since been discontinued by the airline. In August of 2012, Allegiant announced service from Harrisburg International Airport (MDT) to several markets in Florida.

[edit] Routes An Allegiant Air McDonnell Douglas MD-83 at Hagerstown Regional Airport, Hagerstown, Maryland. (2009)

The airline's focus is on leisure travelers, particularly those in colder northern climates, going to warm-weather tourist destinations such as Punta Gorda, Tampa Bay, Las Vegas, Orlando, or Phoenix.[19] The airline offers a lower frequency of flights and no amenities such as frequent flier points or on-board entertainment. As a result, Allegiant carries few business passengers.[14][20]

[edit] Revenues

The airline, which attracted investment from the Ryan family of Ireland, owners of Ryanair, follows a similar model which seeks ancillary revenue in addition to ticket revenue.[21] Allegiant earns ancillary revenue through sales of food, beverages, and souvenirs on board as well as charges for checking luggage and advance seat assignments.[14][22] The airline also offers hotels, cars, show tickets, and tour packages on its website, which generates commissions. The airline sold 400,000 hotel room nights in 2008.[23] As of October 2009, the St. Petersburg Times reported that ancillary revenues were $33.35 per passenger.[24] The total contribution of hotel and rental car packages is up to one-third of the airline's revenue.[22][23]

Regarding the airline's reliance on additional revenue, Allegiant CEO Maurice Gallagher stated in an article that appeared September 2009 issue of the business journal, "Fast Company", that the advantages of this pricing structure was psychological. He went on to say, "We collect $110 from you at the end of your trip. If I tried to charge you $110 up front, you wouldn't pay it. But if I sell you a $75 ticket and you self-select the rest, you will."[23]

In February 2011, Allegiant announced that they have proposed a new idea for combating increasing ticket prices. The company made a proposal for selling two types of tickets to passengers. The first being a fixed fare at a higher rate and the second being one that is sold at a significantly lower price, but at the time of departure, fees can be added on based on the price of aviation fuel. Many passengers are in uproar about it, others are interested.[25] In 2012, the U.S. Department of Transportation banned the practice as part of wider regulations that also require taxes and fees to be included in airfares. Allegiant, along with Spirit Airlines and Southwest Airlines, are suing the DOT in court to overturn these new rules.

[edit] Charter information

Allegiant also operates air charters which contribute 7% of its revenue.[26] The company has two contracts with Harrah's Entertainment with two aircraft based at Reno-Tahoe International Airport and Laughlin/Bullhead International Airport to ferry customers to Harrah's casinos. Additionally, Allegiant has two aircraft based at Tunica Municipal Airport to support a charter contract to transport gaming customers to Harrah's casinos including Tunica and New Orleans.[27] One additional aircraft is based in Wendover to support charters for Peppermill casinos.[28] It also transports firefighters for the United States Forest Service and college basketball players and staff.[26]

Allegiant had a contract to supply charter flights from Miami to four cities in Cuba. Flights began in June 2009. One aircraft was committed to the contract.[26] The contract was for fixed-fee flying, meaning all they have to do is provide the dry aircraft and the flight crew. The contractor is responsible for all other costs including fuel. Allegiant ended this service in August 2009.[29]

[edit] Costs

The airline tends to offer lower fares, which requires strict cost control.[14] Part of the airline's lower cost structure includes operation of MD-80 jets, which the airline can purchase and refurbish for as little as $4 million.[22] While the aircraft are less fuel-efficient than newer planes, Allegiant is able to purchase them outright for one-tenth the cost of a new Boeing 737.[21] Given the low cost of ownership, Allegiant is able to fly the planes less (seven hours per day versus 13 hours per day at JetBlue), which helps keep labor costs lower.[21] Overall, Allegiant operates with 35 full-time workers per plane compared to more than 50 at other carriers. Allegiant schedules their crew members so that they always return to their domicile at the end of the day, thus avoiding the need for hotel rooms which can be a costly expense for airlines.[22]

The airline seeks to maintain a low permanent operating cost at the airport.[30] Allegiant rents ticket counters on an hourly basis and in Chattanooga, Tennessee and Springfield, Missouri, many duties are handled by airport employees contracted to Allegiant.[21][31]

The cost of ticket sales is reduced by selling tickets on its website. The toll-free number was eliminated and Allegiant does not utilize Internet travel agencies.[14]

[edit] Criticism of the business model

Some airport officials have criticized Allegiant for shutting down routes or leaving markets quickly if they are not immediately profitable. In Kinston, North Carolina, the airport authority invested $60,000 in advertising Allegiant's routes and asserted that the load factor was 90% or better. They contend that the airline left the market when they did not earn enough ancillary revenue after only one year.

In Columbia, South Carolina, the carrier departed in February 2007 after less than two months of daily flights to St. Petersburg, Florida, as loads started at 3/4 full and then dropped to half full by February.[30] Allegiant returned to Columbia in February 2009, but pulled out again in late 2009.

The airport director in Worcester, Massachusetts, felt that Allegiant reneged on a commitment to serve the airport for five years given the use of federal grants to assist its startup. However, the airline responded that the market was immediately unprofitable and starting service there was a poor decision; flights were reported to be 80% full.[30] Allegiant's flights average 90% full.[23]

The U.S. Department of Transportation also cited the airline in 2009 for not including their "convenience fee" in the initial price quote on the website.[15]

[edit] Criticism of workers' right to organize

Flight attendants at the carrier voted to organize their workgroup under the Transport Workers Union of America in December 2010, citing scheduling concerns among other issues in their work rules and the airline's pilots elected to vote on whether to join the International Brotherhood of Teamsters in July, 2012. [32] Allegiant's chairman and CEO, Maurice J. Gallagher Jr., has been critical of the unionization of airline employees and has stated that "Unionization is one of those things that clogs the arteries and makes you less quick and not as nimble as you need to be on top of your game... In this industry and others that are heavily unionized, you ultimately end up with bankruptcy as the primary driver" [32]

[edit] Allegiant Vacations

Allegiant Vacations functions as an in-house package vacation vendor. The company has arrangements with 34 hotel properties in Las Vegas and 21 in the Orlando, and Daytona Beach, Florida, areas. The vacations division also has partnerships with several rental car agencies and show-ticket vendors.

[edit] Destinations Main article: Allegiant Air destinations

Allegiant currently flies from 71 small cities to one of 8 destinations throughout the United States. With a few exceptions, all bookings are considered "one way" and begin or end at one of the nine focus cities/operational bases; therefore, travel reservations between any of the other cities must be reserved through separate bookings and checked luggage claimed and re-checked in one of the nine focus cities.

[edit] Fleet

As of December 2012 the Allegiant Air fleet consists of the following aircraft:[33][34]

Aircraft Active Stored Orders Passengers Notes Airbus A319-100 1 — 8 156 Orders are ex-easyJet jets to be delivered between 2012-2015.[35] Airbus A320-200 — — 9 177 Orders are ex-Iberia jets to be delivered between 2013-2014[36] Boeing 757-200 5 1 — 223 Stored aircraft to enter service in Q1 of 2013. At March 2012, the average age of the Allegiant Air fleet is 20.7 years. Allegiant Air is the only US-based carrier to operate all five subtypes of the MD-80 series. On January 4, 2010, the SAS Group announced the sales of 18 surplus MD-80 series aircraft to Allegiant Travel Company. The aircraft were built from 1985 to 1991.[38] Allegiant's smaller MD-87's are currently used exclusively for charters, meaning that all scheduled MD-80 flights have at least 150 seats.

On March 5, 2010, Allegiant announced the purchase of six Boeing 757-200 aircraft from Thomson Airways for flights to Hawaii with the delivery of the first two in the following months. In September 2011, Allegiant Air introduced the 757 into service from their main hub in Las Vegas. Allegiant later announced that the 757's will be used for service to Hawaii.[39] Fresno and Las Vegas were the inaugural destinations to Hawaii and in mid-November 2012, service will start from Bellingham, Eugene, Monterey, Santa Maria, and Stockton.[40]

On July 30th, 2012, Allegiant announced the future addition of the Airbus A319-100 aircraft to its fleet. aircraft are used and formerly belonged to easyJet and Cebu Pacific. Two former easyJet aircraft are to enter service in 2013, 1 in 2014, and 6 in 2015.[35] On December 28, 2012, Allegiant cancelled the agreement with Cebu Pacific citing an inability to agree on economic provisions.[36]

On December 20th, 2012, Allegiant announced their intention to acquire up to 9 Airbus A320-200 aircraft to the fleet. These aircraft are used and belong to Spanish flag carrier Iberia.[41][42] Seven of the A320s are planned for delivery in 2013 and will be used for growth into new markets, including destinations in Mexico, the Rocky Mountains as well as airfields such as Charlottesville and Shenandoah Valley in Virginia, and Trenton, New Jersey.[36]

[edit] Accidents and incidents On March 9, 2007, Allegiant Air Flight 758, a McDonnell Douglas MD-80 aircraft that took off from Pease International Airport in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, experienced a hydraulic failure that prevented the nose landing gear from deploying. The plane made a safe landing at Orlando Sanford International Airport, with only one minor injury sustained in the aircraft evacuation. On October 8, 2010, Allegiant Air Flight 700, a McDonnell Douglas MD-80, caught fire in the right engine shortly after departing the gate at Orlando Sanford International Airport. The fire was quickly extinguished, and the passengers safely exited the plane with no injuries being reported. The flight was scheduled to depart for Roanoke Regional Airport in Roanoke, Virginia, at 7 a.m. [edit] Awards and recognition Forbes Magazine: America’s 100 Best Small Companies: Listed at 33 Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT) Diamond Award of Excellence: 2009 and August 2010 Fortune 100's Fastest Growing Companies: Listed at 25 Aviation Week: Top Performing Low Cost Carrier [edit] References ^ a b c Norwood, Tom; Wegg, John (2002). Founded in 1997, Allegiant Airlines offers all-jet passenger service from America's favorite small cities to world-class destinations.

At Allegiant, travel is our deal!  This means doing things a little differently than every other airline.

For example, we don’t fly to every city.
We fly from smaller regional airports (and a few big ones, too).
Our customers expect great fares to great vacation areas
- like Las Vegas, Phoenix, Hawaii, and the Orlando area –
so that’s what we give them.    (view route map)

We don’t fly every day, only the days when most people want to fly.
Flying fewer flights with more passengers means we’re able to pass the savings on to you.

You pay for the services you choose to use.    For example, not everyone travels with checked luggage, so instead of adding a bag fee to every ticket, you only pay to cover the costs of the bags you choose to bring.  It’s just one more way we’re able to let passengers customize their travel in order to suit more budgets.

We offer specially-negotiated package vacations deals!
Allegiant customers are eligible for exclusive savings on hotel rooms, rental cars, show tickets and more as part of an airline ticket package.   You won’t find these deals anywhere else.

You see, we don’t want to be all things to all people.

We want to be the one airline you think of when you need a great vacation at a great price.

At Allegiant, travel is our deal!

All items found in the Lost & Found inventory are held for thirty (30) days. After that time, unclaimed items are forwarded to System Baggage Service for salvage. All high value items are locked in a secure area whenever possible to reduce the possibility of theft. All passengers with Lost & Found issues are asked to go to the airport where the articles were lost.

How to reserve seats:
You can reserve a seat for a nominal fee when you make your reservation or by logging in to your MyAllegiant account at any time up until you check in for your flight.
Due to FAA safety regulations exit row seating may not be available to families with children and/or passengers with special service requests.

Online check-in is available starting 24 hours before scheduled flight departure.

Most passengers should be able to check in online, however some passengers will not be able to print a boarding  pass and will be instructed to check in at the airport ticket counter.
The reason for this is usually so that we can best accommodate special service requests on a passenger itinerary (such as a pet in cabin, wheelchair, or special need) or to better seat families together.

Remember, even if you check in online, we recommend all passengers arrive at the airport at least 2 hours before scheduled flight departure.

Customer of Size (10) How will you ensure no one takes the seat beside me if I've purchased a second seat?

When a second seat is purchased during the initial booking process, two seats will be pre-assigned (at no additional charge) in order to ensure the customer of size has two seats side-by-side. If a second seat is purchased on the date of travel, the agent will be unable to sell the second seat unless they can ensure two seats are available side-by-side. In the event the flight is sold out and an extra seat is unavailable, the customer of size shall be denied travel in the interest of safety.

Can I be pre-approved as needing only one seat?

Because size can fluctuate, we are unable to give blanket or pre-approved authorization.

If a customer has broad shoulders, will he/she have to buy a second seat?

Again, if a customer cannot lower the armrests, the additional seat purchase is necessary. Simply having broad shoulders would not necessarily prevent another customer from occupying adjoining seats. The upper body can be adjusted, but the portion of the body in the actual seating and armrest area doesn't have this flexibility.

Why can't a large customer sit with a family member who doesn't mind being encroached upon, or a small child/person who doesn't take a full seat?

If you are traveling with a travel companion who doesn't mind encroachment from the adjacent seatmate, we will allow your companion to occupy the seat adjacent to you, assuming it poses no safety concerns. We will not, however, ask other customers to give up their comfort or the full use of their seat to accommodate a customer of size.

If a flight is "open," do I still need to purchase an additional seat?

No, if on the day of travel we can accommodate you by having open seats we will do so at no charge. However, we have no way of knowing what the booking levels will be: if no seats are available to purchase, you may be denied travel without any type of compensation.

Are all overweight persons subject to the policy?

Many customers may choose to use a seatbelt extension but occupy only one seat. These customers would not be asked to purchase an additional seat. If, however, a customer cannot lower the armrest and is unable to comfortably and safely travel with it in the down position, he/she will be required to purchase an additional seat.

I am a large person and use a seatbelt extension, but I fit in one seat. Do I have to purchase two seats?

Our policy does not focus on weight, and the seatbelt extension is not the determining factor. We use the ability to lower the armrests as the gauge, as the armrests are truly the definitive boundary between each seat.

How do I know if I am a customer of size?

The armrest is the definitive gauge, as it serves as the boundary between seats. Customers who are unable to lower the armrest and/or compromise any portion of adjacent seat(s) should proactively book the number of seats needed during the initial booking. Allegiant seats measure 17.8" from inside of armrest to inside of armrest.

Our mission and responsibility per our Contract of Carriage is to provide safe and comfortable air transportation for each and every customer.

What is the cost of the additional seat?

If a customer purchases an additional seat upon initial booking, the second seat will be sold at the same low fare as the first seat. Pre-selected seat fees shall be waived to ensure the customer gets two seats side-by-side. A second seat may be purchased up to or on the date of travel at the lowest fare available, but all purchases are based on availability.

I'm pregnant; will I have to purchase two seats?

A woman who is pregnant will not necessarily need to occupy two seats if she can lower the armrest.

You can access a copy of your travel itinerary and receipt by logging in to the MyAllegiant section of www.allegiantair.com.

You may book up to nine (9) passengers on a single itinerary. To book ten (10) or more passengers, multiple reservations are needed to accommodate all travelers.

What if the fare drops on a ticket after I have already purchased it?

The desire for the lowest possible fare is understandable; however, Allegiant unfortunately cannot refund or credit fare differences after a reservation has been made through the Allegiant Reservations Center. However, you can make changes to your reservations online at www.allegiantair.com. For reservations with Travel Protection, no change fees will be applied, but for those reservations without Travel Protection, all applicable fees will apply to any changes made. When the original ticket is purchased, via the web or by a reservations agent, the purchaser of the ticket is prompted or asked if they agree to the following terms and conditions in order to purchase the ticket: "All tickets are non-refundable, one-way, and ticketless". This is because Allegiant unfortunately cannot control when a passenger will book their flight. Allegiant also does not have advance knowledge of when specials will be offered. The fluctuation in a fare may also be caused by cancellations, and since Allegiant does not overbook its flights, a seat may become available at a lower price.

Can I book a reservation for another person?

Children who are between fifteen (15) days old and under the age of two (2) years old will not be charged if they are not occupying a seat and accompanied by a fare-paying passenger who is fifteen (15) years of age or older. These children are considered and referred to as "Lap Children". Proof of age, such as birth certificate, is required.

What are the ages and restrictions for children?

Children fourteen (14) years and younger must be accompanied by an adult fifteen (15) or older.
Allegiant does not offer unaccompanied minor services.

What kind of harness-type devices are approved by the FAA?

At this time, the FAA has approved only the AmSafe Aviation CARES, which is appropriate for children weighing between 22 and 44 pounds. The AmSafe Aviation CARES must have a label indicating "FAA Approved in Accordance with 14CFR 21.305(d), Approved for Aircraft Use Only."

Traveling With Pets (5) Is there a fee to bring a pet in the cabin?

There is a fee of $100 each way to travel with a pet (domestic cats and dogs only) in the cabin in an FAA-approved soft-side carrier.
A fee does not apply to service animals of passengers with disabilities.

I am unable to check in online and have been instructed to check in at the airport.

Checked baggage must be brought to the airline ticket counter at least one hour before departure.
Please plan to be completely checked in, through airport security, and in the departure boarding gate area one hour before departure time.

Can I bring my qualified service dog on-board flights to Hawaii?

There are strict requirements regarding the entry of service animals into Hawaii.
Customers planning to travel to Hawaii with a service dog should view the Hawaii Department of Agriculture Web site and plan accordingly.

Can I bring my pet on-board?

Yes, Allegiant accepts live animals/pets (domestic cats and dogs only) in the passenger cabin of the aircraft on flights within the contiguous 48 United States.
Pets in cabin must be in an FAA approved kennel or carrier that fits under the seat which will allow a maximum size of 9" H x 16" W x 19" D.
Soft–sided carriers are strongly recommended since pets must be comfortable while remaining in the carrier, under the seat, at all times.
Pets need to be able to stand and turn inside the carrier, so the CSA/GOA will determine if there is adequate room in the carrier for any pet(s).
A kennel or carrier is included in the carry-on baggage limitations.
There is a $100 fee per one–way flight for each carrier in the cabin, with no more than two (2) pets per carrier.
This fee must be paid at the time of booking the reservation. To book a reservation with a pet, please contact the Allegiant Reservation Center and use option 1 and tell the agent you are booking with a pet.
The per segment call center Booking Fees will be waived.
Customers traveling with pet carriers may not be seated in exit rows, one row before or after an exit row or in the bulkhead seats for safety reasons since the carrier must fit under the seat. There can only be one (1) pet carrier per side, for a maximum of two (2) pet carriers per row.

Can my child who is at least 15 years old, traveling alone bring a pet on-board?

Yes.

Vouchers (6) Can I use an Allegiant Credit Voucher and a debit card to make my purchase?

At this time we are only able to process credit card payments when an Allegiant Credit Voucher is also applied.  To receive the debit card discount, the entire purchase must be made with a debit card.

Is anyone able to use my voucher?

Credit vouchers are transferable. However, the same email login and password of the original customer must be used in order for the credit voucher to be redeemed.

If I use only part of my credit voucher, will the remaining amount still be valid?

Yes, customers will be able to use the remaining credit voucher amount towards a new flight as long as travel is completed one year from the original itinerary booking date.

I am logged into my account, but I do not see my voucher. What can I do?

Please be advised, only credit vouchers (beginning with CR) will show up under My Allegiant. If customers have credit vouchers from a cancelled itinerary that is not showing up under the My Vouchers section, please contact the Allegiant Customer Care Department. Have both itinerary and customer numbers available when calling.

How do I apply my vouchers when I am booking a new itinerary online?

Customers with credit vouchers (CR) and dollars off (DO) vouchers must apply these vouchers on the payment screen. There will be a section labeled Credit Voucher. Enter the voucher number, and click Apply Voucher.
Important: Customers with any other vouchers must scroll to the bottom of the home page and click on Travel Vouchers. Enter the voucher numbers on the following page.

How do I find my voucher number on the website?

Customers can log in to their online account in My Allegiant and going to the My Vouchers section of their account.
